Consumer Internet Industry

1) Freecharge Founded by Sandeep Tandon and Kunal Shah: Digital payments solution, Freecharge, has raised $57 million in its private equity round of funding to further scale its technological products and operations. These funds have been poured in by Snapdeal’s parent company Jasper Infotech and add up to its ongoing efforts of raising fresh capital for its funds.

2) TicketNew Founded by N Ramkumar, V Sasi Raman and Ravishankar Ramanujalu: Alibaba Pictures, the entertainment unit of e-commerce major Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, may buy Chennai-based Orbgen Technologies Pvt Ltd, which runs online events booking portal TicketNew. The value of the transaction is expected to be around $35 million for a 70-75% equity stake.

3) Loan Frame Founded by Shailesh Jacob, Rishi Arya and Akshun Gulati: Small and medium enterprise-focused online lending platform Loan Frame Technologies raised $2.25 million in an angel round of funding led by Parag Saxena, co-founder of Vedanta Capital. The company plans to use the funds for platform development and hiring new people.

4) InstaOffice Founded by Vikas Lakhani: Business centres and coworking space provider InstaOffice, raised an undisclosed amount of Pre-Series A funding from Globevestor. Zishaan Hayath (co-founder Toppr); Karan Chellani (Managing Partner at SQUE Capital) and Mohit Satyan (Director DFM Foods and Chairman Teamwork Arts), along with a cluster of other industry experts and angel investors also participated in this round. It targets to grow to over 1,000 active members by the next quarter.

5) iService Founded by Ankit Chowdhary: Bengaluru-based gadgets repair firm iService has raised $439K in an angel round of funding from Blume Ventures. Angel investors such as Freshdesk Co-founder Girish Mathrubootham, TaxiForSure Co-founder Aprameya Radhakrishna, Tapzo CEO Ankur Singla, Former Flipkart executive Mekin Maheshwari and Belong Co-founder Vijay Sharma also participated in this round. The raised funds will be deployed for improving product/tech, team building, and expanding the network to more cities, with an aim of reaching to 6 cities by year end.  The startup is currently active in Bengaluru and Delhi.

6) PaisaWapas Founded by Shankar Kotuli: Bengaluru-based deal discovery and cashback portal PaisaWapas raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Vividhity Ventures, a group of IIT (BHU), Varanasi alumni and a few executives from Infosys and Dell. The funds will be utilized for increasing team strength, expanding college network to over 200 colleges, marketing and partnering with various players working in the education space.

7) Roambee Founded by Vidya Subramanian and Sanjay Sharma: Silicon Valley, US and Mumbai-based IoT Company Roambee raised $3.1 million funding from Deutsche Telekom Strategic Investments. Also, it partnered with Deutsche Telekom’s corporate customer arm, T-Systems to offer a real-time visibility solution for goods and assets in the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe. Together, paying an “on-demand” pay-per-use business model, the two companies are delivering an end-to-end solution featuring real-time visibility, tracking, and condition monitoring of shipments and assets in-transit and in-field.

8) LensKart Founded by Amit Chaudhary: Media entrepreneur-turned-investor Ronnie Screwvala’s Unilazer Ventures has capitalized $3.5 million in eyewear retailer Lenskart Solutions Pvt Ltd through a secondary transaction.

9) IntelligenceNODE Founded by Sanjeev Sularia: Mumbai-based big data analytics startup, IntelligenceNODE raised $733K from NBFC firm BlackSoil Capital. This is the company’s third disclosed round to date. The team is also financed by investors such as Gaurav Sharma, Sunil Varrier, Arindam Das, Anupam Mittal and Gul Mukhey.

10) Securens Systems Founded by Sunil Ramanna Udupa: Mumbai-based e-security startup Securens Systems Pvt. Ltd raised $5 million in its private equity round of funding led by Trifecta Capital. Existing investor Mayfield India also participated in the current funding round. The raised funds will be utilized to increase its client-base.

11) SecureAX Founded by Prasanna Kotha, Deepak N Belavadi, and Praveen Gongireddy: Biometric and surveillance solutions provider SecurAX raised an undisclosed amount of funding. The investment was from Axilor, Parampara Early Stage Opportunities Fund and a group of angel investors. The startup will utilize the funds to boost technology offerings, expand customer base and scale up its operations across India and the Middle East.

12) Hansel.io Founded by Varun Ramamurthy Dinakar, Parminder Singh, and Mudit Krishna Mathur: Real-time mobile app management platform, Hansel.io raised $1.35 million from IDG Ventures. Existing investors Endiya Partners also participated in the current round of funding. The raised funds will be utilized towards the development of cross-platform capabilities, hiring and expanding its presence in the North American market.

13) Supercraft3D Founded by Maltesh Somasekharappa: Flipkart founder Binny Bansal financed in a 3D Printing startup Supercraft3D, pouring in $1 million into the company. Four other undisclosed angel investors also participated in the funding round. This is Flipkart’s fifth investment in the healthcare space.

14) Medinfi Founded by Ravi Shankar Mishra and Himani Mishra: Bengaluru-based healthcare startup Medinfi raised $100K from a group of angel investors including Vinod Martin, chief operating officer of a Singapore-based IT services company; Singapore angel investor Evan Lim; Kanchan Ghoshal, a Qatar-based alumnus of management school XLRI; and Ram Kumar Kakani, a professor at XLRI. The company will deploy the funding to expand its user base to 50 cities in India.

15) Unacademy Founded by Sachin Gupta and Gaurav Munjal: Bengaluru-based edtech startup Unacademy secured $4.5 million funding in Series A round from Nexus Venture Partners and Blume Ventures. Girish Mathrubootham, CEO, Freshdesk and Ananth Narayanan, CEO, Myntra, along with Stanford Angels have also participated in the round. The company plans to deploy the raised funds for expansion of its content portfolio; growing its educators base from 200 to 2000 in the next one year, across varied exam preparation, professional growth topics and language learning; and in including content from areas such as personal finance, personality development and more.

16) Square Yards Founded by Tanuj Shori: Real estate portal Square Yards received $10 million from its banks. The funding is from a group of high net worth individuals including global beauty brand L’Occitane CEO Andre Hoffman and the family office of Kanpur-based Lohia Group. It is now aiming double-digit market share in Indian real estate distribution and is planning to expand to 25+ countries on the ground advising on global real estate.

17) Drivekool Founded by Mahesh Gidwani, Saumitra Kayal, Kumar Gaurav: An online marketplace for driving schools, Drivekool, raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding from US-based Aavya Ventures. The company plans to spend the money in expanding operations to new cities in Maharashtra.

1 ) Leadburg founded by Akshay Chandrasekhar, Vidyadhar Prabhudesai and Sangeeth Varghese: A workforce development startup Leadburg secured an undisclosed amount of funding from the IvyCamp platform from enterprise tech veterans Harsh V. Pant and Ratheesh Raveendran.

2) Hipcouch founded by Parikshat Hemrajani and Pankaj Poddar: B2B furniture solutions provider Hipcouch raised $700K in its seed round of funding. Hipcouch founders had earlier founded Dwll.in, a curated online network of interior designers based in Mumbai, which was acquired by end-to-end home design service provider and curated marketplace for homeowners and designers, Livspace, in May 2015.

3) Tinystep founded by Suhail Abidi: Bengaluru-based parenting-focussed social network Tinystep raised $2 million in private equity round of funding from e-commerce giant, Flipkart. The startup will deploy the newly raised funding to advance the product, better the user experience, and expand the services.

4) PParkE founded by Shampa Ganguly and Pritam Ganguly: Bengaluru-based Pristech Technologies Pvt Ltd, which runs parking solutions app PParkE raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from Singapore-based early-stage investment firm SB Ventures. The new funds will be infused to develop the product.

5) Weddingz founded by Sandeep Lodha: Mumbai-based online marketplace for wedding venues and vendors, Weddingz raised $1 million in private equity round of funding led by Singularity Ventures. Existing investor Sixth Sense Ventures also participated in the round.

6) Fitnapp founded by Sagar Verma and Akshay Jhinga: Fitness startup Fitnapp raised an undisclosed amount of funding from real estate conglomerate SD Group. With this move, SD Group’s Sanjay K Baliase will join Fitnapp as a Director. The raised fund will be utilized for online expansions, increasing the number of associations, partners and marketing.

7) Hoopy founded by Vedic Choubey and Shashank Dubey: Vehicle maintenance marketplace Nephonine Solutions Pvt. Ltd, which offers its services under the brand Hoopy, raised its angel round of funding from a clutch of wealthy individuals. Hoopy has secured $500K to support its expansion plans.

8) Direct Create founded by Sheela Lunkad and Rajeev Lunkad: Online-to-offline B2B platform for handicrafts Direct Create raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Rajasthan Venture Capital Fund (RVCF). The funding will be deployed to build the platform, enhance user experience, scale up maker and designer memberships via outreach efforts.

9) Vahdam Teas founded by Vahdam Teas: Online tea brand Vahdam Teas raised $650K from angel investors Mumbai Angels Network, Fireside Ventures, and Singapore Angel Network. The company will use the raised funds towards marketing, product development, and opening a warehouse in the US. It now claims to have shipped its garden fresh tea to over 76 countries.

10) Wydr founded by Devash Rai: Gurugram-based mobile B2B marketplace Wydr secured an undisclosed amount of Series A round of funding from Bessemer Venture Partners, Stellaris Venture Partners and Singapore-based Jungle Venture Partners. Axis Capital from Singapore also participated in the round. The company plans to use the fresh round of capital for pan-India expansion and expand its seller base across wholesale hubs in India, introduction of new categories and technology innovation delivering more value to its B2B users.

11) Oi Media founded by Praphul Misra: Delhi-based SaaS marketplace platform for OOH (Out-of-Home) advertising Oi Media raised an undisclosed amount of an angel funding led by early-stage VC fund Quarizon. With this move, Alok Kumar Goel, Principal Advisor at Quarizon will join the team’s board and provide strategic mentorship.

12) Kratikal founded by Pavan Kushwaha, Paratosh Bansal, Dip Jung Thapa, Prashant Pandey and Ankit Singh: Delhi-based Kratikal, an end-to-end cyber security solution provider, raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding from Amajit Gupta (former director of Microsoft India) with Praveen Dubey (co-founder Mutual PR) and J.P. Bhatt (co-founder and Chief Executive of ImpactQA). With its 15-member team, Kratikal offers its services to domestic and foreign clients in the US, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa for matters related to cybercrime, forensics, and cyber fraud.

13) QwikSpec founded by Ajith Alexander: Cloud-based construction field inspection and asset management platform QwikSpec raised $300K in seed funding. The Bengaluru-based startup will utilize the fund to scale up its product and in customer acquisition.

14) Tyre Express founded by Dinesh Wakale and Brijesh Shukla: B2B marketplace for lifecycle management of commercial vehicle tyres Tyre Express raised an undisclosed amount in Seed funding via IvyCamp. The startup targets working with fleet operators and the team is also team up with tyre OEMs to improve service offerings to institutional clients.

15) Connaizen founded by Sanchit Kapoor, Vikas Bharti, Nikhil Garg: Fintech startup Connaizen that helps banks & marketers leverage consumer spending data to target them better, secured an undisclosed amount of seed funding led by Umang Moondra, a former Citibank Singapore MD. Headquartered in Singapore, the Delhi-based startup will deploy the funding for helping expedite the integration as it is soon going live with four private banks.

16) Ethosh founded by Jitendra Dahale and Rahul Deshpande,: Deepak Nathani, Cybage co-founder picked up a 25% stake in Pune-based visual and interactive communications firm Ethosh. The investment amount remains undisclosed. The startup will deploy the freshly raised capital to expand its presence across the US, Europe, and India.

17) Practo founded by Shashank ND and Abhinav Lal: Healthcare platform Practo has raised $55 million in its series-D round of funding led by Chinese internet conglomerate Tencent.  The company plans to utilize these funds to further integrate its platform and for global expansion.

18) Ketchupp founded by Chirag Taneja, Abdul Khalid, Narendra Kumar and Rohit Taneja: Metasearch engine for online food ordering, Ketchupp secured $441K in Seed round of funding from India Quotient and other angel investors. The team plans to use this round of investment in making a robust product through analytics, big data, and enabling tech solutions.

19) iD Fresh Foods founded by Musthafa Pc: Wipro chairman Azim Premji’s family office, Premji Invest invested $25 million in Bengaluru-based food company, iD Fresh Foods. With the investment, Premji Invest has acquired a 25% stake in the company at the latter’s valuation of $100 million. MAPE Advisory Group is the advisor to the deal. The company will utilize the new funds to grow its presence across India and expand its product offerings.

20) NativeSpecial founded by Baskaran V: Tamil Nadu-based foodtech startup NativeSpecial secured an undisclosed amount of funding from Indian Angel Network, and Madurai-based Native Angels Network. Nagaraja Prakasam led this round of funding on IAN’s behalf and with the investment; K. Premnath will join the board to provide strategic mentorship to the venture. The startup will use the newly raised funding for further upgrading of its laboratory facilities and expansion to newer markets.

21) ZoloStays founded by Nikhil Sikri: Real estate portal ZoloStays raised $5 million in Series A round of funding from Nexus Venture Partners. The round also included a venture debt of $660K from Innoven Capital. With the raised funds, Zolo aims to create a new class of managed accommodations and strategies to grow aggressively to reach from 5000 locked-in beds to over 12000 beds. It further wants to expand to Chennai and NCR by the end of this year.

22) Curiositi founded by Vinod Abraham and Manoj Thandassery: An edtech startup Curiositi Learning Solutions secured an undisclosed amount in Series A round of funding from Menterra Social Impact Fund. Existing investor Unitus Seed Fund also participated in the round. The recently raised funding will help the enterprise expand its operations to more schools, increase learning outcomes, and provide a comprehensive solution that supports experiential learning in the classroom.

23) Ezytruk founded by Srikanth M: Ezytruk, logistics and truck aggregator startup secured $ 147K funding from Dubai-based investors Ajith Nair and Anish K. The investment will help Ezytruk establish its commercial operations, marketing and IoT development and in its organic growth strategy.

1) SelectJobs founded by Paresh Rajde and Amit Saxena: India Educational Investment Fund (IEIF), an early-stage impact fund established by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation (MSDF), has funded undisclosed amount of seed funding in job portal Select Jobs.

2) Khel Now founded by Dhruv Ratra: Mobile-based social networking platform for sports, Khel Now received $500K in funding from Thailand-based Indochine International Co. Ltd. The startup plans to deploy the funds to expand its network and services across Southeast Asian countries. The company is also planning to add sports such as tennis, basketball, badminton, and Thai martial arts such as Muay Thai on its platform.

3) NowFloats founded Neeraj Sabharwal, Nitin Jain, Ronak Samantray, Ronak Kumar Samantray, and Jasminder Gulati: NowFloats, a digital enabler of Small and Medium Businesses (SME) business presence raised $10 million in its Series B round of funding from Iron Pillar Capital and IIFL, along with existing investors Blume Ventures & Omidyar Network. IIFL invested through its Seed Ventures Fund I & Cash Opportunities Fund. The startup plans to utilize the proceeds for sharpening its technology stack that drives customer support which the company is aiming to be a hybrid of automated and human interaction. It plans to enable the larger enterprises to leverage automated SEO on top of their existing websites. Also, it will also strengthen its services for the small and medium enterprises and expand further into the Tier II and Tier III cities in the country.

4) Wishberry founded by Anshulika Dubey and Priyanka Agarwal: Crowdfunding platform Wishberry raised an undisclosed amount in its Pre-Series A round of funding from iSPIRT co-founder Sharad Sharma. The round also saw the participation of Rajan Anandan (MD, Google India), Amit Ranjan (co-founder, SlideShare), Alok Mittal (founding member, IAN), Venkat S Raju and several other investors from LetsVenture.

5) 99PerHour founded by Vidhyaa, and Shanker K: On-demand hyperlocal services provider, 99PerHour raised Seed funding of $300K from a US-based angel investor, V Aanand R. The company plans to deploy these funds to expand its service categories from 18 to 100 across – utility, professional, and personal services.

6) messaGif: A social messaging platform, messaGif, added $ 50K to its initial angel investment by an early Google employee. The company will use the funds to upgrade technology, research & development and marketing. The startup is engrossed on specific Indian content in 9 regional languages and is one of the largest Gif aggregators in the world.

7) TOGEDR: Gurugram-based social networking app TOGEDR got selected for Facebook’s developer-focused programme “FbStart” which caters to the early-stage, mobile-focused startups. As part of the programme, the startup will be provided with services & credits worth $40,000.

8) BabyOnBoard: Bengaluru-based online baby journal creating app BabyOnBoard got selected for Facebook’s developer-focused programme “FbStart” which caters to the early-stage, mobile-focused startups. As part of the programme, the startup will be provided with services & credits worth $40,000. The services include mentorship from Facebook’s engineering teams and services from its partners like Amazon Web Services, Dropbox, Adobe, and MailChimp.

9) Infibeam founded by Sachin Dalal: Bennett, Coleman and Company Ltd (BCCL) invested $8.8 million in Ahmedabad-based e-tailer Infibeam in exchange for equity. Following the transaction, BCCL’s stake in Infibeam is likely to go up from the current 1.4% to around 2.2%.

10) SmarterHi founded by Srini Narayanan and Pradeep Vasudev: IoT-based security services provider, SmarterHi Communications secured an undisclosed amount of funding from a Singapore-based investor for a minority stake. The funding will be deployed to develop its R&D, sales, and marketing team.

11) CRON Systems founded by Tushar Chhabra, Farheen Ahmed, Tommy Katzenellenbogen, and Saurav Agarwala: IoT-based border security solutions provider CRON Systems secured an undisclosed amount in its Pre-Series A round of funding from early-stage VC firm, YourNest. The raised funds will be utilized to develop its R&D team, hiring new members, and venture into new markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

12) Betaout founded by Arjun Mahewshwari, Ankit Maheshwari, Arjun Maheshwari, Mayank Dhingra, Nandini Rathi, and Raghubir Thakur: A customer intelligence and marketing automation platform for e-commerce, Betaout, secured an undisclosed amount of funding from South East Asia-focused East Ventures and angel investors.

13) RML AgTech founded by Rajiv Tevtiya: RML AgTech, formerly known as Reuters Market Light raised $4 million from IvyCap Ventures, a private equity firm. The company plans to use the money to reinforce its IT backbone and to bring in new products and features on its current offerings.

14) Loyalty Prime founded by Christoph Straub and Kunal Mohiuddin: Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform Loyalty Prime raised a Series A round of funding from a consortium of investors, including Munich-based early stage fund Senovo, Unternehmertum Venture Capital (UVC) and angel investor Alexander Bruehl. The company will deploy the funds to expand its business across Europe, the US and Asia.

15) InstaSafe founded by Sandip Kumar Panda, Biju George and Prashanth Guruswamy: Security solution startup, InstaSafe, raised $2.2 million of seed funding from e-governance solution provider ABN Knowledgware in a stock-exchange filing. The startup will utilize primary funds to improve its product offering technology and expand into international markets while enhancing its marketing and sales teams.

16) 99Games founded by Rohith Bhat: A gaming startup 99Games raised an undisclosed amount of funding led by Japanese investment firm Dream Incubator, along with participation from existing investors Kalaari Capital and Ascent Capital. This is Dream Incubator’s debut investment in India. The first female-focussed game to be launched is a puzzle strategy game focused on cooking.

17) Aryaka founded by Ashwath Nagaraj, Ajit Gupta and Rajeev Bharadhwaj: Aryaka, a global SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) and cloud computing platform raised $45 million in Series D round of funding from Third Point Ventures and Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners (DTCP), along with the participation of existing investors. Post the investment, Aidan Cullen, formerly associated with CliQr Technologies will join Aryaka’s leadership team as Chief Financial Officer.

18) Cuemath founded by Manan Khurma: Edtech startup Cuemath, raised $15 million in a series B round of funding from CapitalG and Sequoia India. The company will utilize the funding for improving its learning systems and expanding to other cities across the country.

19) ChipperSage founded by Latha Srinivasan: India Educational Investment Fund (IEIF), an early-stage impact fund established by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation (MSDF), has financed undisclosed amount of seed funding in ed-tech firm ChipperSage.

20) LetsTransport founded by Pushkar Singh and Sudarshan Ravi: Bengaluru-based logistics startup, LetsTransport raised $4 million in its Series A round of funding. The latest round of funding was from Neelesh Bhatnagar, former CEO of Landmark Arabia along with GMO, and a Japan-based payment gateway company.

21) Airmed founded by Amit Gupta and Piyush Gupta: Ahmedabad-based healthcare lab aggregator, Airmed Path Labs secured $1.4 million from Bennet, Coleman and Co. Ltd.’s (BCCL) investment handle, Brand Capital. The raised funds will be deployed towards expansion and strengthening its brand.

1) MapTags founded by Krishna Yogi, Abhinav Saksena, Suman Jha: MapTags takes the pain out of filling out addresses. The Bangalore-based startup got a commitment of US$18,000 from the angels at the IIT Bombay e-summit.

2) RegisterMyMarriage founded by Ankur Arun and Gaurav Sharma: Delhi-based marriage registration portal RegisterMyMarriage raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Mumbai Angels and angel investor Praveen Dubey in an angel round. The firm will deploy the funds to expand its registration services to wills, divorces, birth certificates, income certificates, etc.

3) Stockroom.io founded by Naren Krishna Madhurakavi: Hyderabad-based Stockroom.io, a curated platform for developers raised an undisclosed amount of funding in Pre-Series A round from Satya D Sinha and Gyanendra Singh, the founders of MANCER Consulting. With the raised funds, the team further plans to focus on building a SaaS platform based on candidate recommendation system and predictive analytics.

4) OhLook: Hyderabad-based style curation startup for men, OhLook has been selected for Facebook’s developer-focused programme “FbStart” which caters to the early-stage, mobile-focused startups. 7) Intuit Things founded by Neil Savant, Ravi Savant, Vikram Vaidya, Mihir Karkare: It is an end-to-end IoT solutions for home automation applications. It aims to do all this at more affordable price points than similar imported products in the market. Angel investor Sanjay Mehta led the funding commitment of US$100,000 into this startup.

The investment round was led by Mahalingam K, partner, TSM Group. GoBumpr had raised a round of funding from Keiretsu Forum six months back.

3) Innov8 founded by Ritesh Malik, Shailesh Gupta, and Sumit Ranka: Delhi-based coworking office space provider Innov8 raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding from LetsVenture, Venture Catalysts. 6) Leopetra: Mumbai-based 360-degree solution provider for all pet needs, Leopetra was selected for Facebook’s developer-focused programme “FbStart” which caters to the early-stage, mobile-focused startups. 7) CCAvenue: Infibeam has agreed to invest $22.4 million for further acquiring 7.5% equity shares of CCAvenue. Ahmedabad-based Infibeam is planning to join with payment gateway CCAvenue. In May 2016, Infibeam had invested about $6.7 million in the payment gateway. As per a recent filing, Infibeam currently holds 3.85% of equity shares in CCAvenue.

8) Townscript founded by Sachin Sharma and Sanchit Malik: Online entertainment ticketing brand BookMyShow invested an undisclosed amount for a majority stake in DIY event registration and ticketing portal, Townscript. 7) LetsVenture founded by Shanti Mohan and Sanjay Jha: Former chief product officer at Snapdeal Anand Chandrasekaran invested in Bengaluru-based IndiePitch Solutions Pvt. 6) RemitGuru founded by Naushad Contractor: The joint entity of Infibeam- CCAvenue will invest $466K in digital money transfer platform, RemitGuru. Infibeam will partly acquire Avenues Payments and will invest $310K and the remaining $155K would come from CCAvenue. CCAvenue holds a 26.76% stake in Mumbai-based RemitGuru.

The investment was done via SAP’s newly launched $35 million artificial intelligence-focused fund SAP.iO in March 2017.

15) Telr founded by Elias Ghanem and Sirish Kumar: Singapore-headquartered payment gateway Telr secured $3 million Series B investment from Innovations East. The startup will deploy the recently raised funding to build out and enhance its core product proposition and roll out new payment methods. The funding will also be used to scale up operations in focus markets, especially India and other developing markets.

16) HealthSutra founded by Sai Krishna Popuri: HealthSutra, a Hyderabad-based health food maker secured an undisclosed amount in pre-Series A funding from social venture fund Ankur Capital and Hyderabad Angels. The startup plans to deploy the funds to set up a higher capacity processing facility for its core product millet flakes.

17) Elize founded by Tanvi Johri: Ahmedabad-based women’s sanitary pad maker startup Elize raised an undisclosed amount of Seed funding from a group of angel investors. This includes Sunil Kalra, Arun Venkatachalam from Murugappa Group, Startup Buddy Ventures and senior members from Arthur D Little Adnan Merhaba, Viditha Kanakamedala and Rohit Sethi. The startup will deploy the raised funds to strengthen product line, create a strong brand presence and grow the active customer base.

18) Dial4242 founded by Jeetu Lalwani: Mumbai-based ambulance booking mobile app Dial4242 raised $154K in a Seed funding round from an undisclosed angel investor. The raised funds will be utilized for the purpose of R&D, market research, product development, and operations.

1) WhatsLoan founded by Vidya TG and Timmana Gouda D: Bengaluru-based fintech startup WhatsLoan secured an undisclosed amount of funding from South Indian music recording company, Lahiri Music’s family office. The move on Lahiri Music’s part comes as an attempt to expand business across different industries. The startup plans to use the raised funds towards building its tech platform.

E-commerce Industry

2) Yepme founded by Sandeep Sharma, Vivek Gaur and Anand Jadhav: Fashion retailer, Yepme raised $45 million in a financing round from undisclosed investors. The startup will use the raised funds to further the operations of its UK-based entity, Yepme UK Plc that makes fashion products for international markets, including Europe, Middle East, and the US, along with brand enhancement and the launch of a new fashion range before Diwali.

Logistics Industry

3) Delhivery founded by Mohit Tandon, Sahil Barua, Bhavesh Manglani, Kapil Bharati and Suraj Saharan: Gurugram-based e-commerce logistics startup, Delhivery secured $30 million in funding from Chinese international conglomerate Fosun International. With this financing round, the company is currently valued at $650 million.

4) Travelspice founded by Ramu Kallepalli: Bengaluru-based travel tech startup Travelspice secured an undisclosed amount of funding from Eagle10 Ventures. The startup currently claims to work with 3 to 5-star hotels in more than 212+ cities across India and 6 cities outside India.

5) Magicpin founded by Anshoo Sharma and Brij Bhushan: Gurugram-based hyperlocal discovery startup Magicpin secured $6.6 million in Series B round of funding from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Vy Capital. Earlier in February 2016, Lightspeed Venture Partners also invested $3 million in the startup in Series A round of funding.

6) Zipgrid founded by Kunal Gupta and Jaydip Popat: Mumbai and Ahmedabad-based real estate tech firm Zipgrid closed $500 K Pre-Series A round with investment commitment from 1Crowd and JLL India. The startup plans to use the raised funds to upgrade its existing technology and operations. Also, a part of the funding will be used to launch a range of collective commerce solutions for its users.

7) The Print founded by Shekhar Gupta and Barkha Dutt: Delhi-based media venture The Print raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Ratan Tata, Uday Kotak and Nandan Nilekani. Anchor investors – Biocon Ltd’s Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, tech-entrepreneur Rajiv C. Mody and Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma, will hold close to 20% equity in the venture, while the rest belongs to founder Shekhar Gupta. The startup plans to hire a team of 50 people by July this year along with setting up office space in New Delhi.

8) Aye Finance founded by Sanjay Sharma and Vikram Jetley: Gurugram-based NBFC Aye Finance secured $8 million from Blue Orchard, a leading global impact investment manager. The funding was raised through NCDs (non-convertible debentures) with a maturity period of five years. The funds will be used to strengthen its funding position and to facilitate the inclusion of a larger number of MSMEs in the realm of mainstream economy.

9) ItzCash founded by Naveen Surya: US-headquartered Ebix Inc invested $123 million in ItzCash at a valuation of $150 million, against 80% stake in the company. With the newly raised funds, ItzCash aims to foray into areas such as credit, insurance, healthcare and investments to accelerate growth momentum going forward.

10) Box8 founded by Anshul Gupta: Mumbai-based on-demand food delivery startup Box8 secured $1 million in venture debt funding from Trifecta Capital. With the recent funding, the startup intends to venture in its existing three markets, and improve customer experience. The company is also planning to expand to new geographies.

11) GenNext Students founded by Asad Daud and Ali Kagzi: A hybrid tutoring platform ‘Genext Students’ which connects parents with the best home tutors for their children, secured $580K in its pre-Series A round of funding led by undisclosed investors. The company targets at leveraging the recently raised capital to expand the services to new cities such as Bengaluru, Lucknow, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Chennai.
